Hello

Hello, My name is Meredith and I've decided to start this blog to share some of my thoughts and my writing.

I was most recently a reporter for the Catholic Standard newspaper in Washington, D.C. Since then I've been looking for other jobs. I updated my resume and had it reviewed by numerous sources. I also put together a writing portfolio with some of my best articles from the Catholic Standard.

I created an account on USAJOBS.org and set up a search agent. I have been applying to job after job on USAJOBS.

When I was getting a haircut at haircuttery the Korean hairdresser suggested I get a job teaching English in Korea. "That would be a good idea," she said. So I looked up teach English in Korea on the Internet. But then I wasn't so sure I wanted to do it. I read one teacher's depressing blog who seemed to have a miserable day with the students. Did I really want to go thousands of miles away where I'd know absolutly no one and stay in a sub-standard apartment to work long hours?

In the meantime I applied to work part-time at the Little Gym of Olney. But I got rejected in favor of some immature teenagers who have more of a dance background than me.

I can honestly say that I don't think there is anything I'm interested in.

But I did write the beginning of a story based on a short trip I recently took with my father. My family members read it and said that it was really good.

So maybe I'll just be a writer...
